People’s Deputy from Servant of the People Galina Tretyakova said that she was not happy about the death of People’s Deputy Anton Polyakov and expressed her opinion on the issue of life and death. She is also ready to leave the post of head of the committee, if the political force so decides. She told about this to reporters on the sidelines of parliament.
She did not admit that her statements about Polyakov’s death were unethical.
“This is the relationship of a person with death. A very interesting topic. I have a bill on euthanasia, which I am not submitting. This is a very sensitive humanitarian topic that Europe is discussing, but for some reason we do not … Each person is faced with the death of a loved one. And as a person I don’t want, for example, my loved ones to cry when I’m gone. I don’t think that there were unethical things in my statements (about Polyakov’s death – Ed.). I’m accused of hating people – it is not so, “- said Tretyakova and added that she was not happy about Polyakov’s death.
The People’s Deputy also noted that she is ready to accept any decision of the faction regarding its possible dismissal from the Committee on Social Policy and Protection of Veterans’ Rights.
“If the faction thinks that I should be in this place, I will. If the faction thinks that I should not, I will continue my work and submit bills, regardless of position,” she added.
Scandal with Tretyakova
- On October 8, the day of Polyakov’s death, at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, the deputies announced that Tretyakova in the factional chat of “servants” mocked the death of the deputy, writing: “one enemy less.”
- On the same day, Tretyakova disgraced herself with a new correspondence about Polyakov, asking the deputies not to remind her that she was on a committee that fights for the rights of people.
- The parliament has already come up with a punishment for Tretyakova. The head of the “SN” faction David Arahamia said that the deputy would be removed from plenary sessions. But that may not be the end of it.
