Spring and early summer are the ideal time to transplant houseplants. It is very simple to do this: you just need to remove the old soil, spread the roots on a hill of fresh earth and add soil from above.
For lush flowering, you can use natural organic fertilizers. How to feed indoor flowers during transplantation – read the material GLOBAL HAPPENINGS.
wood ash
This is one of the most powerful and popular fertilizers. Ash performs protective and disinfecting functions. It is best suited for:
- geraniums;
- fuchsia;
- begonias.
We mix 1 liter of water and 25 g of ash and wait about a week until the fertilizer is infused. Then you need to water the plants under the root, but not more than once every 2 weeks.
Banana skin fertilizer
Banana skins contain magnesium, potassium and phosphorus – they are indispensable for high-quality growth and healthy fruiting. Expanded clay or pebbles should be laid at the bottom of the pot – this will create a reliable drainage layer. Then we pour a little soil, and put banana peels on top.
Yeast fertilizers
Yeast contains cytokinins that perform an important function – they are responsible for cell division. Without them, the rapid and healthy growth of plants is impossible. Yeast also contains vitamin B, which is indispensable in the development process.
It is easy to prepare fertilizer: in a container with 1 liter of water, dissolve 1 g of dry yeast and 1 teaspoon of sugar. After a three-hour infusion, dilute the solution with water in a ratio of 1:5.
Sugar fertilizers
Houseplants require glucose, which acts as a building material. But you can prepare a sugar solution once a month, more frequent feeding will have a bad effect on the plant. Sugar and water should be mixed in the proportion of 1 tablespoon of sugar per 1 liter of water.
citrus skins
The skins of lemons, oranges or tangerines will saturate the soil with nitrogen and repel pests.
Fertilizers from tea leaves
With tea fertilizers, commonly used to loosen soil and improve oxygen penetration, experts advise caution. The tea leaves must be dried before use and stored in a separate bag.
