(ANSA) – VENTIMIGLIA, 08 NOV – Three Tunisians who tried to reach France by crossing the infamous Passo della Morte, in the Grimaldi hamlet, in Ventimiglia, were rescued in extremis late yesterday evening by the firefighters of the local detachment. The foreigners, now exhausted, had got lost in a wood among the brambles, risking among other things to fall into one of the many gorges that characterize the area.
Not being able to alert the helicopter, due to poor visibility at night, the team of six firefighters who intervened in the searches, split up trying to reach the refugees from different points. The 118 health personnel rushed to the scene with the carabinieri. The three Tunisians were refreshed and subjected to a medical check-up. In the morning, the firefighters of Ventimiglia had recovered the body of a young African who had fallen into a gorge, in the same extreme attempt to reach France. (HANDLE).
