The mother had expressed a favorable opinion while the opposite opinion. The family therefore appealed to the Court whose College heard the girl, deriving the idea that the will of the latter “cannot fail to be valued, all the more considering her age and maturity”. Furthermore, the Judge did not “see signs of manipulation or conditioning of others” and the willingness to get vaccinated was motivated by the girl “not only for reasons of convenience – in relation to the specific sporting activities carried out – but also considering it useful, and not dangerous, having also informed herself on the point, and therefore declaring that she has no doubts and that she is ‘convinced’ that she wants to be vaccinated “.

The judge also cited the opinion of the National Bioethics Committee, according to which in the event of a conflict between parents and children, “the adolescent must be heard by medical personnel with pediatric skills and that his will must prevail”. (HANDLE).
