The fifth president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, calls on the head of state, Volodymyr Zelensky, to meet with the leaders of parliamentary factions in the near future. He said this at a meeting of the Conciliation Council of faction leaders and chairmen of parliamentary committees.

According to him, this meeting, which would raise issues of threats to Ukraine’s national security, regarding the crisis in the energy sector, as well as the coronavirus crisis and the economic crisis, should have taken place as soon as possible.

“I ask you to get rid of your fears. The enemy is not in Ukraine, the enemy is at the gate and knocks on our doors,” the politician said.

This initiative was also supported by the leader of the Batkivshchyna faction, Yulia Tymoshenko.

She noted that the meeting of the President of Ukraine with the leaders of the factions should be held behind closed doors in order to discuss the situation regarding the threat of war with Russia.

Tymoshenko believes that it looks strange when the whole world talks about such a threat, and Ukraine pretends that nothing is happening.

And what’s in the Rada?

Ex-speaker of parliament Dmitry Razumkov said about serious pressure from representatives of the President’s Office and the leadership of the Servant of the People faction on his supporters in the Verkhovna Rada.

Last plenary week in the Verkhovna Rada announced the creation of a new inter-factional association “Smart Politics”, which included ex-speaker of parliament Dmitry Razumkov, as well as deputies from the “Servant of the People” and “Batkivshchyna”.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk said that 83% of MPs in parliament received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
