Saakashvili lost consciousness, he was placed in intensive care

The lawyer of the arrested third president of Georgia, head of the Executive Committee of the National Council of Reforms of Ukraine Mikheil Saakashvili said that the politician had already begun to faint. In the afternoon he was admitted to the prison hospital in the intensive care unit.

What happened

Bek Basilai’s lawyer said that Saakashvili lost consciousness when he left the room. They took him on a stretcher back to the prison hospital.

Later, the resuscitator of this hospital told reporters that the politician was transferred to the intensive care unit of the prison hospital, and that his condition is now stable.

“There was a short-term loss of consciousness, there was high blood pressure and there were unstable glycemic parameters. He is in intensive care, and there is a resuscitator on duty. He is fully connected“- said the doctor.

• On the morning of November 18, a group of doctors under the auspices of the Georgian Ombudsman stated that Saakashvili’s health is critical in many vital indicators. He was recommended to be transferred to a civilian multifunctional clinic.

• A day earlier, the Human Rights Ombudsman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Lyudmila Denisova said that Saakashvili had very bad tests. His personal doctor Nika Kipshidze could have saved the situation, but he is not allowed to see the prisoner.
• This week, the European Court of Human Rights recognized a threat to Saakashvili’s life. Saakashvili’s case against Georgia received priority status in the ECHR.
