Covid: outdoor masks must be returned to Padua

Covid, Roberto Speranza:

(ANSA) – PADUA, NOV 26 – The citizens of Padua have already had to put the mask back in the open today, once again obligatory in the perimeter of the fourteenth-century walls. A rather clear change of scenery in the squares and streets of the historic center, even if many even before had never given up protection on the nose and mouth in crowded places.

Today, however, the restrictive order of the mayor Sergio Giordani has entered into force, which provides for fines of 400 euros for those who do not respect the new measures. A measure also suggested by the sharply increasing numbers of Covid infections: Padua is the province of Veneto with the worst data in the last week, 270 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. In the morning there were many people out for a walk with regular face masks; according to some estimates, 70-80% of Paduans were ready for the new rules, which will last until December 31st. The people recalled by the brigade or by the auxiliaries to comply with the ordinance justified themselves by claiming that they were not aware of the return of the obligation of masks.
