(ANSA) – CASERTA, 03 DEC – The carabinieri saved in Ailano, in the Alto-Casertano, the occupants of a car and a van who had been stranded due to the flooding of the Volturno river, whose waters, due to the abundant rains, they invaded the surrounding countryside and the provincial road 281 Ailano – Vairano Patenora. The road artery was therefore closed to traffic in both directions. Following a report to the emergency number 112, the Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Nucleus of the Compagnia di Piedimonte Matese intervened and reached the blocked vehicles on foot and, pushing them on their shoulders for over 100 meters, took them to safety allowing the 118 staff, who have intervened in the meantime, to provide assistance to the occupants.
Shortly afterwards the same carabinieri responded to a request for help from a hauler, intervening on the provincial road 10, Raviscanina – Pietravairano, near the bridge over the Volturno river, where they saved the two occupants of a car overwhelmed by the flood. (HANDLE).
