“This is treason!” – the scouts explained how they actually thwarted the special operation against the Wagnerites

The reserve colonels of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Semenyuk and Roman Chervinsky announced the disruption of the special operation against the “Wagnerians” because of treason on the Ukrainian side. However, who exactly “leaked” the information – they did not have time to establish, because they were fired.

They told about this on the air of the talk show “Freedom of speech by Savik Shuster” on the TV channel “Ukraine 24”.

Information leak

Yuri Semenyuk and Roman Chervinsky claim that they were directly involved in the development, planning and even implementation of the special operation to detain Russian militants. According to them, everything did not go according to plan due to information leakage.

“As the person in charge of the operation, I am 99% sure that it was treason. Someone called there. The Belarusians could not detain them and go into open conflict with the Russians. Therefore, someone gave the Belarusians disinformation so that they would detain them and give them to the one who reported it. I can think so“, – said Roman Chervinsky.

It was not possible to find the “mole”, because after the failure, the key intelligence officers involved were fired.

“We began to form a list of people who need to be checked. And Burba said that he would provide a list of others who from the President’s Office were admitted to this information. So that we can schedule some checks … We did not wait for this list because Burba was fired, “ – added Chervinsky.

According to the reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuri Semenyuk, there were no significant threats and risks during the special operation, because it was managed to be kept secret.

“Nobody knew what was really going on – neither the Russians nor the Turks. And if there were information that the plane was landing for some reason – those on board, they would not know where they were landing. And whether there were any moments or threats to civilians, the plane would just fly further“, – he said.

According to Roman Chervinsky, even Vladimir Zelensky himself could have told foreign presidents about the Wagnerites in Minsk.

“Somehow the information was transferred to Lukashenka. This is exactly what he confirmed that he received information that there are terrorists on the territory of Minsk who are planning to make a revolution in Belarus … If Zelensky says that he did not want to carry out this operation and considered it an adventure. Maybe he called? Zelensky could have warned Erdogan. We cannot know it and we cannot contradict it “, – suggested the former representative of the special services.

The Wagnerian case

• In the summer of 2020, Belarus detained and handed over to Russia 32 mercenaries of the private military company Wagner, thereby disrupting the operation of the Ukrainian special services.
