Bad weather: snow, thunderstorms and strong winds in the Center-North

(ANSA) – ROME, DECEMBER 07 – A new Atlantic disturbance will bring a phase of bad weather to most of Italy, with low-altitude snowfalls, precipitation and a strengthening of the winds, especially in the Center-North. This is indicated by a weather alert from the Civil Protection.

The notice foresees, from the early hours of tomorrow, snowfall up to the level of the plain or valley floor, first on Piedmont, Lombardy, the Ligurian hinterland and, subsequently, on the Autonomous Province of Trento and Bolzano, western Emilia Romagna, central sectors northern regions of Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia, with locally moderate contributions to the soil, up to abundant in the highest altitudes. The snowfalls will be associated with possible frosts on the sectors of the central-eastern Po Valley.

Moreover, from tomorrow morning, thunderstorms are expected on Veneto, Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio. The phenomena will be accompanied by strong showers, local hailstorms, frequent electrical activity and strong gusts of wind. Storm winds are also expected from the southern quadrants on Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Tuscany, Umbria, Marche, Lazio, Abruzzo and Molise. Strong storms will be possible along the exposed coasts.

Evaluated for tomorrow the yellow alert on the entire territory of Tuscany, Lazio, Umbria and Basilicata and on part of Abruzzo, Calabria, Molise, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto. (HANDLE).
