An expert worker, a capiturno with over 30 years of experience behind him sucked in a moving machine, a bricklayer precipitated by a scaffolding of a renovation building, an employee of a maintenance company struck by an electric discharge. To the wake of blood of the victims at work are added three other deaths in Veneto, Campania and Lazio: according to the data of the Inail on accidents, in the first quarter of 2025 they were reported to the INPS 205 dead, with an increase of 8.37% compared to the previous year. The first accident happened at 7.00 at the ‘Aristoncavi’ in via Einaudi in Brendola (Vicenza), a leading company in some market segments in the cables sector for special applications.
A 58 -year -old resident in Vicenza, Raffaele Galano, originally from Campania but for years residing in the city, lost his life. According to the first reconstructions, the worker would have lost his balance, perhaps because of an illness, and would have fallen close to the machine. However, one arm would end up inside and that point the worker would have been grasped by the gear of the machinery, which gave him no escape. To rescue the 58 -year -old and the alarm were colleagues, who immediately realized what happened by activating all the emergency procedures and freeing the victim from the taking of the machinery. The health workers of Suem 118 intervened on the spot with the support of the Arzignano firefighters but despite the resuscitation attempts, the doctor could not help but ascertain Galano’s death.
On what happened, the company has released a note: “Aristoncavi is deeply conspired for what happened this morning and wishes to express its closeness and the most heartfelt condolences to the family of the collaborator who had been working in the company for over thirty years”. The dynamics of the accident are still under consideration by the competent authorities, and the company has hailstorm “the utmost collaboration so that you can clarify the shortest possible time”. The accident involved “a company that has safety at work in its DNA, in which attention and controls are at the highest levels – underlines Uil Veneto – and from what we know, the victim was an expert worker. All circumstances that make us understand how, first of all, there are no happy islands: the risks are everywhere. And then that the efforts to get to ‘zero deaths’ must be even more pressing”.
In the other tragic episode, in Frattamaggiore in the province of Naples, a construction worker died following a fall while he was engaged in the renovation of the facade of a building, inside a private courtyard. The man was immediately rescued but died in the hospital. “We are faced with another murder at work – say Giovanni Sgambati and Andrea Lanzetta, respectively of the genre secretaries of Uil and Feneal of Naples and Campania – an escalation of death and injustice. It is necessary to recognize the manslaughter and establish a special power of attorney for accidents and deaths at work”.
The third victim is instead a 47 -year -old employee of a maintenance company that was killed by an electric discharge: the man was working in a photovoltaic system of Paliano, in the province of Frosinone, to replace some panels when he was hit by the electric shock. Rescue is useless: the man died instantly. On the spot, in addition to the carabinieri, the ASL tenics are at work to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the accident and check whether all the injuries on accident prevention rules are respected.
