Three hours after ending up sitting in Square San Pietro
Almost three hours after the start of the installation mass of Pope Leo XIV, in St. Peter’s Square the seats in the first two sectors closest to the churchyard ended. To occupy them, a composite audience: many confraternities, with their colorful clothes and cloaks, equipped with banners and from all the countries of the world, arrived in Rome in recent days for the Jubilee dedicated to them. There are Americans, Asian, European. In the square also many groups of Italians who come from different regions. A crowd of all ages: from the little ones to the elderly, to entire families. Many flags with stars and stripes, among other various nationalities: from South America to Asia to Europe. In via della Conciliazione it is a continuous river of faithful who gradually reach the area around the obelisk which is intended only for those who remain standing. The audio tests of the microphones began from the stage, while the filtering of the police started at 6 with metal detectors and bags controls are even more rigorous than in the last few weeks.
