(ANSA) – AOSTA, 20 DEC – The Aosta Valley climber Hervé Barmasse has been in Pakistan for a few days where he will attempt the ascent of Nanga Parbat (8,126 meters) in the winter season. The news was relaunched on social networks. The team also includes the German David Gottler and the Pakistani Qudrat Alì. According to what has been learned, the expedition will be engaged on the impervious and complex Rupal wall, 4,500 meters high and considered the largest in the world.
In the next few days, the arrival at base camp and the start of operations on the mountain is expected, which in the winter season was climbed for the first time in 2016 by Simone Moro, Alex Txikon and Ali Sadpara. Hervé Barmasse is one of the top climbers in the national and international mountaineering scene, as well as being one known as a writer and as a ‘TV face’ for his participation in the Kilimanjaro broadcast on Rai 3.
