(ANSA) – TERMOLI, DEC 29 – A family from Termoli illegally detained two wild deer discovered by the carabinieri of Termoli and led by the team of the Maiella National Park with the collaboration of Anpana in the Wild Fauna Recovery Center of Popoli (Pescara).
The soldiers, surprisingly, went to the family property together with specialized veterinarians and operators of the Carabinieri Biodiversity di Popoli Group. With them Gianluca Barbuto, Regional Coordinator of the Volunteer Guards of Molise.
The deer transport operation was organized in two stages. In the first phase, the two animals were sedated safely and then transported to the Abruzzo Center where they will be kept in quarantine and under observation, before returning to the wild within the reserve of the Maiella National Park.
“It is worth remembering that the detention of dangerous wild animals – the carabinieri said – must be authorized by the competent bodies and that the ethological characteristics of each animal must always be respected. It should be remembered, in fact, that each animal is subject to the protection of law. Anyone intending to purchase or adopt a copy is required to inform themselves about all the regulations in force “.
