“Today” collected the main of the politician’s statements.

Poroshenko does not believe in a possible arrest

People’s Deputy rejected the possibility of his arrest after returning to Kiev. He stated that sees no reasonfor this.

“Not because I’m so untouchable, but zero reason for this. I’m sure that Zelensky will not do this – he will not shoot himself in the foot. There are no grounds (for detention. – Ed.), so there is nothing to comment”Poroshenko said.

The politician also said that he himself would come to the Pechersky District Court of Kiev, and added that he did not really trust this department.

The plane with Poroshenko may land not in Zhuliany

Poroshenko does not rule out that the plane, which he will fly to Kiev, may be landed at the Boryspil airport instead of Zhulyan, as planned. In his commentary, he recalled the oppositionist and journalist Roman Protasevich, whom detained Belarusian special services in Minsk, urgently landing a Ryanair plane.

“Can it (airplane. – Ed.) land at another airport? Yes, they can, and they specifically and very carefully study the experience with Protasevich – where, what, where to plant. Because they cannot land a plane with “Wagnerites”, but they can land a WizzAir plane. But I really hope that doesn’t happen.”Poroshenko said.

In addition, the politician compared himself to Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

Outwardly, if you do not know the internal realities, it is similar with the return of Navalny to Russia. My lawyer told me, I didn’t realize it… It turns out that Navalny flew to Moscow on January 17th. We did not choose these associations“, – he said.

The politician criticized Bankova

Poroshenko blamed President Volodymyr Zelensky for his persecution. He harshly criticized Bankovaya and accused the president’s team of total surveillance.

“According to my information, the architect of my business is Zelensky, who gives instructions, organizes and bears responsibility for this. The customer is Mr. Kolomoisky (Igor Kolomoisky, Ukrainian oligarch. – Ed.), I state this authoritatively – as revenge for PrivatBank, revenge for all these things”– said the people’s deputy.

Why is Poroshenko returning to Ukraine?

The people’s deputy said that he was returning to Ukraine to fight for the country, and not against Zelensky. He noted that the president for him is an opponent, not an enemy.

In addition, Poroshenko added that he was coming to Ukraine to convene an extraordinary session of parliament.

“Everyone is talking about aggression in European parliaments, but we cannot convene an extraordinary session of the Verkhovna Rada”, – he said.

Recall that on Monday, January 17, Poroshenko will return to Kiev from a European trip, he may be detained by law enforcement officers. The Office of the Prosecutor General has already signed a petition for arrest, and the Pechersk Court of the capital allowed Poroshenko to be detained in order to take him to court for a preventive measure. For his part, Poroshenko said that he would come to court and meet with Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova.
