(ANSA) – ROME, JAN 20 – After a few days of atmospheric stability, the weather in Italy changes once again: between today and tomorrow the arctic currents will be able to breach the anticyclone, giving life to a new phase of bad weather in the central-southern regions. Andrea Garbinato, Editor of iLMeteo.it, indicates that the first signs of a turning point will already be noticed during the day, when a cyclonic vortex pushed by icy arctic currents from its center of gravity from France to the east, will cause a general worsening of the weather scenario with rains on most of the central regions and the lower Tyrrhenian. Snow will also return on the Apennines at medium-high altitudes given the still high temperatures. On Friday 21 January very cold winds will begin to lash Italy starting from the North-East regions, then rapidly spreading to the rest of the country. The effects will be more evident on part of the Center and the South, where the snow will fall until it touches the hilly areas, especially in the South. In the North and in Tuscany, the weather will remain quieter and drier, with some fog banks and temperatures. freezing during the night and early in the morning.

In detail Thursday 20: In the north: weak rains in the northeast. Center: scattered rainfall over all regions. Snow above 1000 meters.

In the south: scattered rains over Sicily and Campania. Lots of clouds but drier elsewhere.

Friday 21: In the north: fog on the Po Valley, sun prevailing elsewhere. Center: scattered rainfall over the Adriatic regions and Lazio. In the south: scattered rains, snow above 500 meters between Campania, Basilicata, Puglia, at higher altitudes elsewhere.

Saturday 22: In the north: possible morning mists on the plains. Sun elsewhere. Center: good stable and sunny weather over all regions. On Sardinia, scattered clouds and some rain. In the south: possible rainfall on Puglia and northern Sicily. Sun elsewhere. (HANDLE).
