Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov in an interview with the BBC commented on the evacuation of diplomats from Ukraine and named the reasons for this decision.

According to him, for those who evacuated their representatives, money is more important than democracy.

“EU representatives today made statements that they see no reason to evacuate their diplomats. I emphasize once again: there are a lot of different processes, each country first of all solves its own issues. Is democracy in the world under threat today? Yes. Because today money “Unfortunately, in many cases they win. And when they say “the West”, such a common denominator as “the West” no longer exists. There are countries that adhere to democracy, and there are countries for which money is the dominant today. Moreover, these countries are members of the EU, these countries are members of NATO,” he said.
