(ANSA) – FLORENCE, 07 FEB – Last night the entrances of two schools in Florence, in the area of via Pistoiese, on the northern outskirts, were set on fire. Firefighters, police flying squads and forensics are on site. According to what has been reconstructed, the investigators would favor the hypothesis of a vandalism. The institutions affected are the Balducci kindergarten and primary school, in viuzzo della Cavalla, and the Paolo Uccello middle school, in via Golubovich. In both cases the flames blackened the entrance windows, without however causing serious damage while the attacks have a strong symbolic value.

Furthermore, based on the first findings of the Scientific Police, a Molotov cocktail could have been launched against the Paolo Uccello school. Some fragments of bottle glass were found on the spot, which were confiscated and will be examined in the laboratory. The second fire, the one in the primary Balducci, could have been caused with rags soaked in flammable liquid. The gesture was not accompanied by any claims. Also for this reason, investigators consider it likely that it may have been a vandal act. (HANDLE).
