The Ischia Award to Lucio Caracciolo and the career prize to Cremonesi

(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 18 – Lucio Caracciolo, founder and director of Limes magazine, is the winner of the Ischia International Journalism Award. Anna Zafesova, journalist of La Stampa, goes the award for the press, Elena Testi, journalist of La 7, for television journalism, Lorenzo Cremonesi of Corriere della Sera the Lifetime Achievement Award, while the director of Rai Sport, Alessandra De Stefano, wins the award for sports journalism.

This was decided by the jury chaired by Giulio Anselmi and composed of Andrea Abodi, Lucia Annunziata, Luigi Contu, Alessandro Barbano, Enzo D’Errico, Giuseppe De Bellis, Giovanni Grasso, Lucio Fontana, Carlo Gambalonga, Federico Monga, Mario Orfeo, Agnese Pini , Fabio Tamburini and Alessandra Galloni. The ceremony will take place on 1 and 2 July in Casamicciola.

Lucio Caracciolo was awarded for distinguishing himself for the balance shown in the often polarized political debate that has accompanied the various phases of the conflict in Ukraine for two months. Anna Zafesova followed the Ukrainian affair with numerous articles, playing a valuable coordinating role for the Turin daily with sources in Moscow, Kiev and Italy. Elena Testi stood out as an example of the entire group of freelancers who experienced firsthand, with courage and transparency, the various stories of the complicated war phase. Alessandra De Stefano, the first woman to direct the Rai Sport newspaper, was awarded for her work as a correspondent following national and international cycling and for conducting the successful program Il circolo degli Anelli during the Olympics.

The Lifetime Achievement Award was awarded to Lorenzo Cremonesi, who as a war correspondent for Corriere della Sera since the end of the 1980s has told in first person, with courage and professionalism, the most delicate moments in many hotspots of the world, Iraq and Afghanistan, Lebanon and Pakistan, and in recent weeks in Ukraine.

Finally, recognition will be given by the Ischia Award Foundation for the 30th anniversary of Tg5, for the monthly film Ciak and for the 130th anniversary of Il Mattino. (HANDLE).
