Journalists: work stress mapping and analysis project

(ANSA) – MILAN, 23 JUN – A project for the mapping and analysis of work-related stress of Italian journalists: this is the content of a protocol between Casagit Salute, the health insurance of the category, and the National Order of Psychologists. It was signed between the president Gianfranco Giuliani and that of the specialists David Lazzari. There are two fundamental points: through the Casagit Health and Work Observatory (composed of journalists Andrea Artizzu, Giorgio Pacifici and Tiziana Sapienza) to develop a common program for an investigation that identifies the risk and stress factors that lead to stress, also for to then be able to reduce them with specific preventive interventions, and to create three ‘focus groups’ on issues relating to health and the profession, with the participation of about thirty journalists. “The first step will be the establishment of a ‘Scientific and Project Committee’, formed by the Observatory and the group of psychologists who oversaw the initiative – explains Giuliani -. To identify even better the fundamental common psychological ‘stressors’, others 50 journalists will respond to a specific questionnaire through dedicated emails “. Work-related stress is one of the most common pathologies among those connected with professional activity. It is responsible for most of the days of absence and for very high costs in terms of lost productivity. (HANDLE).
