Emmanuel Macron continues to take the pulse of the country. Thursday, he was on a land he knows well, very close to Bagnères-de-Bigorre. This is where the president spent his summers as a child. It was therefore quite relaxed that he arrived during the day at Sainte-Marie de Campan, the legendary village of the Tour de France stage.

Creation of a Tour de France museum

Without a tie, he sat down with a few local producers and even indulged in singing a few notes in patois. Objective: to share this moment of popular jubilation, and to show that tourism and the economy are recovering. Emmanuel Macron has also announced the creation of a Tour de France museum in Sainte-Marie de Campan. A place that is part of a development project of the bike made in France in the department.

“This will allow the mythology and mythical figures of the Tour de France to continue to be brought to life in your magnificent town,” said the Head of State. “Long live the Tour de France, and we will be at your side with Business France!”. Like climbers, the president advances. He pedals, but still caught up with the health crisis. At the end of the stage, he had to visit the vaccinobus which follows the entire Tour loop. The message to the French is clear: “move forward, but vaccinated”.
