State security investigates: Unknown people smear the house of Minister of Justice Buschmann

Unknown people have daubed the home of Federal Justice Minister Marco Buschmann (FDP) in Gelsenkirchen. The incident happened on May 19, the police said on Wednesday. The “world” had previously reported on the fact. According to his ministry, Buschmann had appointments in Berlin that day.

Residents called the police “after noticing graffiti and slight damage to the front door,” the police said.

“Since the Federal Minister of Justice is also registered at this address, the state security of the Gelsenkirchen police started the investigation on the same day.” A ministry spokesman said in Berlin that Buschmann had “immediately filed a criminal complaint” after the incident.

Buschmann himself confirmed this on Twitter and showed no understanding for the perpetrators. “Democrats argue with arguments – not with violence and property damage,” wrote the politician on the platform. Of course, one cannot influence his political opinion with such actions, he explained.

A police spokesman said there was no information about suspects. But you check an entry in the web portal “Indymedia”. On the side classified by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution as “secure left-wing extremist endeavors”, the act was justified by the fact that Buschmann was taking “trans-hostile influence” on the draft of the self-determination law.

In the future, transgender, intergender and non-binary people should have the opportunity to have their gender entry in the civil status register and their first names changed by submitting a declaration to the registry office.
