(ANSA) – ORVIETO (TERNI), 21 JAN – “Immediate suspension” from the League for Angela Maria Sartini, councilor of the Carroccio for the Municipality of Orvieto, after she posted on her personal Facebook profile a photo of Hitler smiling and on the phone with the words “hello Mario, I wanted to congratulate you”.
“We consider the post completely inappropriate and in bad taste”, underlined the Lega Umbria in a note.
“Even the legitimate dissent with respect to the decisions taken by the Government – the party pointed out – cannot and must never go beyond common sense. It is even more serious to bring up such painful pages of history. In the coming days the regional board will meet the same councilor for a comparison “.
Reached by ANSA, Sartini said she did not want to comment on the post, which was then removed. The commissioner is responsible for social policies and services, family, school, education and training, young people and the future, equal opportunities and gender policies.
The municipal councilor of opposition to the center-right council Franco Raimondo Barbabella always stigmatized the post on Facebook, underlining: “if a councilor in office, expression of a government party, publishes a photo of Hitler who congratulates the prime minister, the meaning of which cannot escape anyone, what kind of problem does it pose not only to itself but to the mayor?
