(ANSA) – PARIS, FEBRUARY 24 – Fifa president Gianni Infantino is “very worried” about the “tragic and worrying situation” that is being created after Russia initiated a military intervention in Ukraine. However, Infantino did not unbalance himself on the next games that should be played in Russian territory.
“I was shocked by what I saw, I am worried – the words of Infantino – about this situation. Fifa condemns the use of force by Russia, violence is never a solution. We ask all parties involved to restore peace through constructive dialogue “. But what will happen now for the world play-offs that Russia should play at home on March 24 against Poland and, if they win on March 29, against Sweden or the Czech Republic? “Fifa will continue to monitor the situation – Infantino replied -.
