(ANSA) – ROME, APRIL 05 – Over 800,000 tickets to attend the World Cup matches in Qatar are sold in the first phase, FIFA reports. The new sales window kicks off today (at FIFA.com/tickets.) With a raffle period that runs until Thursday 28 April.

After the group draw has taken place, tickets will be available for fans, who can request tickets for a maximum of two matches per day. Fans can now see who will play their team in the group stage and submit requests for their favorite opening matches. This is an unprecedented advantage in a World Cup – underlines FIFA – thanks to the extraordinarily compact nature of the tournament and the short travel times between the eight stadiums that will host the matches.

Additionally, for the first time ever, fan tickets and subordinate fan tickets will be offered for those who claim to be supporters of a particular national team in the competition and want to sit with other fans of that team. (HANDLE).
