(ANSA) – TOKYO, 08 MAY – World champion Christian Coleman made a timid return to 100 meters (10 “09) at the Seiko Golden Gran Prix, stage of the World Continental Tour. For the American it was the first race on the distance from suspension of 18 months – for missing three doping controls – which had forced him to give up the Tokyo Olympics.
The 26-year-old sprinter, who returned to the race in January, beat Japanese Yuki Koike (10 “22) and Australian Rohan Browning (10” 23). Coleman is still a long way from the best performance of the year on 100, set by Kenyan Ferdinand Omanyala, on Saturday in Nairobi (9 “85).
He had reappeared on the track in the winter indoor season, but was beaten in March in the 60-meter final of the Indoor World Championships in Belgrade by 100-meter Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs. (HANDLE).
