(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 09 – The award ceremony of the XI Edition of the ‘Enzo Bearzot’ National Award, a prestigious award organized by the ACLI Sports Union with the patronage of the FIGC, this year awarded to the Shakhtar Donetsk coach, Roberto De Zerbi. The decision was made by the Jury chaired by the President of the Football Federation, Gabriele Gravina, and by the number one of the US ACLI Damiano Lembo, and coordinated by the ANSA sports editor-in-chief, Piercarlo Presutti.
At the same time, Daniele Chiffi will be awarded the Special Award for the best emerging Italian referee, assigned to the memory of the former match director Stefano Farina, who passed away on 23 May 2017.
Also this year the ceremony will be broadcast live on Rai Sport HD. On the same day, a special career recognition will be awarded to Dino Zoff 40 years after the historic victory of the 82 World Cup and also the 9th ‘Enzo Bearzot’ Social Award which, like every year, goes to the most deserving projects in the area among the US ACLI associations. “The Bearzot Award – the US ACLI Social Challenge”, whose jury is chaired by Professor Cinzia Bearzot, daughter of the former national team coach, was awarded to the Provincial Committee of Pesaro for the promotion of sports for deaf girls, which formed a national basketball team.
