(ANSA) – ISTANBUL, MAY 12 – Three victories and one elimination is today’s balance of the Italian national team involved in the women’s Elite Boxing World Championships in the Istanbul ring.

The Roman from Fiumicino ‘Caterpillar’ Sorrentino, thanks to a clear 5-0 over the Egyptian Mohamed, earns the pass for the second round of 50 Kg in which she will face the Irish Fryers (15/5).

5-0 also for 54 Kg Sirine Chaarabi in her 16 / i match against Korean Jin. The blue in the second round will challenge the Dominican Almanzar (15/5).

The 2016 World Champion, Alessia Mesiano, wins on her debut in Turkey, imposing herself in the round of 32 5-0 over the Turkish Yildiz. On Sunday, in the second round, the blue will face off against Puerto Rico representative Tapia Rodriguez.

The only negative note, the injury that halts the world race of Angela Carini in the middle of the first round, losing 66 kg in the round of 32 against the Turkish Surmeneli.
