(ANSA) – HEIDENHEIM, MAY 13 – Third place, the second of the season, for the Italian Gabriele Cimini in the World Cup in swordplay held in Heidenheim, Germany. During the competition, Cimini risked going out in the first round, winning on the last thrust, 15-14, a very uncertain assault with the dangerous Japanese Kazuyasu Minobe. Then two more wins, on the Slovakian Lukas Johanides for 15-13 and on the Chinese Lefan Yu for 11-10. In the quarter-finals there was the blue derby between Cimini and Andrea Santarelli, in which the Pisan won 15-11. Then in the semifinal the Italian spadista lost 15-14 to the Moroccan Houssam Elkord, in turn defeated in the final for 15-11 by the French Romain Cannone.
The other blues Federico Vismara, Valerio Cuomo, Enrico Garozzo and Matteo Tagliariol were eliminated from the first round.
