When Brizi died, he was awarded the title with Fiorentina in 1969

(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 09 – The world of football, and the people of Fiorentina in particular, are in mourning for the death of Giuseppe Brizi. The Libero, who contributed to the conquest of the second Scudetto by the gigliati in the 1968/69 season, was also the second player in terms of number of appearances (374) in the history of the Tuscan club. In addition to the Scudetto, he also won two Italian Cups with Fiorentina, between 1962 and 1976.

Brizi died in the Macerata hospital: he was 80 years old.

Having grown up in football in Robur Macerata, he then moved to Macerata where, as a very young man, he made his debut in Serie C. Later he was noticed and hired by Fiorentina. However, after playing for years in Serie A, he chose to end his career behind the defense in Macerata (1976/77). Later he trained Maceratese, Sangiustese, Fermana and Lanciano. (HANDLE).
