(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 14 – The Tour de France is approaching and Tadej Pogacar smells of glory. The winner of the last two editions of the French stage race is preparing to return to the race in the Tour of Slovenia, scheduled for tomorrow 15 to 19 June. Pogacar will be the captain of the UAE Emirates which, for the rest, will be able to count on the German Pascal Ackermann for the sprints and on the experience of the Polish Rafal Majka, who already won the race in 2017. “It’s been a while since the last time I hung the race number on my back, so it is normal that I really want to breathe the racing air again – Pogacar’s words -. We trained on high ground, in Livigno, the atmosphere inside the team is fantastic, in training I felt good feelings, but it is never easy to know how these indications could be interpreted in the race.
This edition of the Tour of Slovenia will be particularly significant for me: the 4th stage will pass through my home, in Komenda. I know the roads and climbs well, I can’t wait to meet my relatives and friends on the side of the road.
