Tennis: ‘Nadal soon dad’, the first child is on the way

(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 15 – The golden moment for Rafa Nadal continues. After winning his 14 / o Roland Garros, the Spanish tennis player, at 36, will become a father for the first time. The rumor had been around for weeks, but this time the Spanish magazine Hola! confirms that Maria Francisca Mery Perellò, the 33-year-old wife of the Majorcan champion, would therefore be pregnant. The two have been married for 3 years and engaged for 18. For the moment there is no official confirmation from Nadal, but the photos published by Hola! show an “evident maternity silhouette in a bathing suit”, news also reported by the media such as the daily Marca.
Meanwhile, the two are enjoying their success at Roland Garros off Mallorca with a group of friends aboard Nadal’s catamaran.
In the golden trio of tennis, Nadal is the only one who has no children. Novak Djokovic has two, Roger Federer four. Not long ago, Nadal had spoken to the British newspaper Sun about children: “I would like to have them: boys and girls. But I also tell you that the reality is that the years continue to pass, I would like to start doing all this when my life sport will allow me. I don’t know if traveling all year and having children is ideal. If children come, there will be a change. It’s something that will probably happen in the future because we both want it. ” (HANDLE).
