Tennis: Queen’s; Berrettini against Paul ‘sees’ the semifinal

(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 17 – Matteo Berrettini risked big in the second round of the Queen’s in London, a tournament in which he is reigning champion. The Roman tennis player recovered with stubbornness and effort against the American Denis Kudla who came within a whisker of the feat. Berrettini confirms the great feeling with the grass: yesterday the world number 10 won the game number 17 in the last 18 played on the green surface. The only defeat is the Wimbledon final against Djokovic.

Today the blue will face another American, Tommy Paul, yesterday’s executioner of Wawrinka. The Sisal experts see a very favored Berrettini at 1.36 compared to the American’s 3.10: Paul won the only previous one, in Acapulco this year but with the Italian who had to retire towards the end of the second set. After the risks taken yesterday, Berrettini should have an easy life so much that an exact result of 2-0 in favor of the Roman tennis player is played at 1.95 while that for Paul is offered at 5.25.

The blue, however, is the number 1 favorite also for the final victory at Queen’s. Berrettini’s encore on the London grass is given at 2.25. The number 1 danger for the Roman champion comes from Marin Čilić, two-time winner of the tournament and recent semifinalist at Roland Garros.

The Croatian tennis player is comfortable with the fast English and the third success in the event is played at 2.75. Far away all the other contenders for the final victory with a trio made up of Filip Krajinović, Emil Ruusuvuori and Botic van de Zandschulp all paired at 12. (ANSA).
