(ANSA) – ROME, JUL 19 – Qatari Olympic champion Mutaz Essa Barshim was awarded the gold medal at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon. Barshim failed the attempt at 2.42 and gave up, still finishing first after an almost error-free run.
Silver goes to South Korea with Woo not exceeding 2.39.
Third place for the Ukrainian Protsenko with 2.33 at the first attempt, fourth Gianmarco Tamberi who exceeds 2.33 at the second attempt.

Barshim, who shared Olympic gold with Gianmarco Tamberi a year ago in Tokyo, was crowned world champion in jumping in Eugene for the third consecutive time.
