Super Cup: Real is always ‘el Rey’ of Europe

A victory with the most classic of scores, 2-0, and Real Madrid take home the 94th trophy in its history. It is the European Super Cup of 2022, which Carlo Ancelotti’s team, always winning in the finals as a coach in this competition, won by beating Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 in Helsinki. The thrust of the many German fans who arrived in Finland was worth nothing, the ‘merengues’ are a team of superior caliber, and the difference was seen on the pitch. Alaba and the usual Benzema scored (for him goal n.442 in his career, 324 those with the Real shirt), now on the way to triumph in the standings of the next Ballon d’Or, but the score in favor of Real could have have a bigger gap if Vinicius Junior, hero of the Champions final won against Liverpool, hadn’t missed two delicious occasions by a whisker (in one, a decisive intervention by the defender Tuta). Among the heroes of the evening there is also Carlo Ancelotti, at the 23rd trophy of his career: he evidently was not joking when he said he wanted to compete with José Mourinho. Honesty still wants it to be said that Eintracht also had a couple of chances, but the usual Courtois avoided problems at Madrid by intervening great on Kamada and Knauff. The first goal of the Spanish team came in the 38th minute, when the match still seemed fairly balanced and Benzema rose by hitting his head. The ball went to Casemiro who also preferred the aerial game and Alaba needed an assist who could not help but score. The doubling in the second half, with a nice shot from Benzema, to ‘Karim the Dream’, on which however Trapp did not appear flawless. So in the end Real has confirmed themselves as ‘el Rey’ and begins the season in the best possible way which, in the end, could give him five trophies. The road is still long, but in the ‘Casa Blanca’ it is always legitimate to dream. Real are the most suitable team to do this.
