(ANSA) – ROME, AUGUST 19 – After the first alpine stage in Madonna di Campiglio, the Longevity Run Summer Edition 2022 arrives in Abruzzo. The event promoted by the Gemelli Polyclinic for prevention and healthy lifestyle will start on Monday 22 August in Ovindoli in Piazza San Rocco from 10 to 18, while at 11 it will be time for jogging with the exceptional godmother Sofiia Yaremchuk, winner of the last Venice marathon. The event will take place in memory of Stefano Faccia, a young ski instructor who died a few months ago at the age of 21 from a serious illness.

Great expectation therefore for the awareness event for a healthy and active lifestyle conceived and promoted by Professor Francesco Landi, full professor of Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the Catholic University and Director of the UOC Internal Geriatric Medicine of the Polyclinic Foundation University of Agostino Gemelli IRCCS.

For each participant in the Longevity Run, the Gemini specialists will evaluate the main cardiovascular risk factors such as smoking, physical activity, eating habits, and direct evaluations have been performed such as the measurement of weight and height with the calculation of the index of body mass, the measurement of blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol. Furthermore, the presence of any sleep disturbances will be assessed through specific questionnaires. But the event is not only prevention, it is also sport, factors which together represent a winning combination in favor of health. In addition to the prevention village, space for physical activity. Numerous participants are expected in the Longevity run, the non-competitive 5 km race open to all.

“Longevity is conquered step by step – explains Professor Francesco Landi – and is based on three main factors: correct nutrition, sport and prevention are the magic formula for aging well and in health”.

The Longevity Run Summer Edition will end on 4 September in San Gabriele Piozzano, in the province of Piacenza, the third and final stage of the event. (HANDLE).
