Germany: Union Berlin leads Bayern

(ANSA) – ROME, AUGUST 27 – Borussia Moenchengladbach confirms itself as Bayern Munich’s ‘black beast’ and snatches an equal, 1-1, on the field of rivals. Goals from Thuram (at 43 ‘pt) and Sané (at 38’ st) decide the match. The Bavarians (De Ligt still starts from the bench), also held back by the day of grace of the opposing goalkeeper Sommer, must thus share the primacy in the standings with Union Berlin who humiliated Schalke by winning 6-1 in Gelsenkirchen.

The capital’s other team, Hertha, lost at home to Borussia Dortmund, scoring in the 32nd minute with the new signing Modeste, former Cologne. In Hertha, Kevin Prince Boateng and former viola Stevan Jovetic meet again on the pitch as substitutes.

Leipzig wins, 2-0 at Wolfsburg, with a brace from the usual Nkunku.

In the standings Bayern and Union lead with 10 points, followed by Freiburg, Hoffenheim and Borussia Dortmund at 9. (ANSA).
