The 22 bikes stolen from the Azzurri are found in Romania

(ANSA) – ROME, OCTOBER 29 – The bikes stolen from the national track teams on October 23 in Roubaix were found in Romania. The Vrancea police, as part of an anti-drug operation, found the precious track and road bicycles stolen from the Azzurri during the World Championships: 22 in total, for a value of about half a million euros. Among these also the golden bikes delivered a few days before the French trip.

Police caught the alleged fences when they were trying to sell some of the 22 stolen bicycles in France. 20 people were arrested in the operation.

The confirmation of the discovery comes from the team manager Roberto Amadio, in constant contact with the French and Romanian police. The return of bikes to Italy – the Federciclismo says – will be coordinated by the Italian police. (HANDLE).
