“No one attacked her”: the Olympic champion said that Russia is not at war with Ukraine and “they don’t want to hear us”

The President of the Russian Cross-Country Skiing Federation (FLGR), Elena Vyalbe, expressed outrage at the demand of the International Federation (FIS) to oppose the war in Ukraine for admission to international competitions. The three-time Olympic champion repeated propaganda narratives that the Russian Federation did not attack Ukraine, which means that athletes from the Russian Federation will not sign such conditions.

Vyalbe stated this in an interview with the R-Sport propaganda news agency. She called on the citizens of the aggressor country to rally “around the president and around the whole situation,” and also noted that she would not allow athletes to compete in FIS competitions on the terms of the federation.

“We are not at war with Ukraine, and no one attacked it. Another question is that they don’t want to hear us over the past 20 years. Let’s be honest: Vladimir Vladimirovich first spoke about this back in the late 2010s that we are not ready to live the way you want to live with us … I think we should rally around the president and around the whole situation in general … If I hadn’t seen and understood … The guys risk their lives there so that we can live peacefully and in country that is developing normally. And then they went with their flag and anthem, with pride, with honor to the Olympic Games,” Vyalbe said.

Earlier, the president of the Russian Wrestling Federation, Mikhail Mamiashvili, demanded from Europe an apology and compensation “for the tears of brothers and sisters in the Donbass” due to the FIS admission conditions.

As GLOBAL HAPPENINGS reported, Olympic champion Alexander Legkov spoke about the Russians’ fatigue to perform without a flag and an anthem and demanded the International Olympic Committee “if they want us to come.”
