The Executive Committee of the Basketball Federation approved changes to the regulations of the Ukrainian Basketball Championship among men’s teams in Division A (Super League) of the 2023/2024 season.
The competition will be held in two stages. At the first stage, the teams will play four rounds according to the tour system of the calendar (in the “bubble” format). At the second stage, a playoff system is planned.
The format of the playoffs must be determined before the start of the third round of the championship, depending on the situation in the country under martial law.
It was decided to leave the competition format in Division B (Major League) unchanged – a competition in three stages. At the first stage, the teams will be divided into groups according to the regional principle, at the second stage, the best eight teams will form two quartets of 4 teams, which will determine the participants of the third stage in a round-robin tournament.
At the third stage, four teams will play for the final places in the “bubble” format in two rounds, taking into account the points of the second stage in games between themselves.
As GLOBAL HAPPENINGS reported, on June 10-11, Kyiv will host the final round of the Ukrainian Basketball Cup 3×3.
