Shevchenko reacted to the participation of the Ukrainian national team in Euro 2024 and told how the team was “broken” by Rebrov

President of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) Andriy Shevchenko praised the national team for their character in the Euro 2024 qualifying playoffs. The legend of “Dynamo” and “Milan” noted the work of the “blue-yellow” coach Sergei Rebrov, during his work with whom the team appeared in a completely new light and won four strong-willed victories.

Shevchenko stated this in a comment to the official website of the UAF, commenting on the victories of Rebrov’s charges over Bosnia and Iceland. The former striker noted that the Ukrainian team deserved access to the continental championship, and the head coach himself completely changed the team.

“These were very difficult matches for our team. We understand that in such matches, when you make some mistake, it can be very costly. I think that not all matches are possible to score, but you must play them with dedication “Especially such important ones. And in the match with Iceland the guys demonstrated this. We had 100% faith in them, in the coaching staff. Sergei Rebrov did an incredible job, because he took over the team at a very difficult moment. He completely changed it, the team “had an amazingly strong character. Even when we were losing 0:1, it was clear that the team would not break,” Shevchenko said.
