(ANSA) – ROME, DEC 16 – Two special and supportive days for the blue Irma Testa who from Torre Annunziata arrived in Rome for a tour of emotions and synergies that began in the Paul VI Auletta, where the first Italian female boxer who participated in the Games, in Rio, and then, in Tokyo, won an Olympic medal met Pope Francis, on the occasion of the private audience with the participants in the 29th edition of the Christmas Concert in the Vatican, produced by Prime Time Promotions and promoted by the Congregation for Catholic Education, in support of Missioni Don Bosco, with a focus on Lebanon, and of the Pontifical Foundation Scholas Occurrentes, Social Partner of the Italian Boxing Federation, of which Irma is Ambassador for the “Scholas Citizenship” project , dedicated to combating educational poverty in Haiti.
Accompanied by Scholas’ Sport Coordinator for Italy Mario Del Verme, Irma shook hands with Pope Francis, a lover of boxing in his youth. From the competition uniform to the dark suit to bring to the stage a message of solidarity in favor of all those Haitian children who, like her, come from a difficult context and, moreover, devastated not only by crime but also by natural disasters. Irma testifies to it: “you must never give up, believe in your dreams and find the courage to face the fear of being wrong”.
