The WBC temporary champion in the First Ukraine Sergei Bogachuk (26-2, 24 knockouts) won the unanimous decision of the judges over American Michael Fox (24-5, 5 KO). The battle was the main event of the evening at the Commerce Arena casino at Kommers (USA).
Fox, known as the uncomfortable Shulga and a fan of postponing the pace, was forced to enter open exchanges this time.
Bogachuk constantly pressed, and in the third round he drove the enemy to the corner and put a strong struggle. Nevertheless, not everything followed his favorite script – Fox successfully responded in the middle of the battle and tied the pace, due to which he was able to pick up at least a few rounds.
In the last three minutes, Bogachuk missed the blow in the last seconds and ended up in Canvas, but the chief judge Thomas Taylor decided that Ukrainian accelerated and did not calculate the knockdown.
This caused a real scandal on social networks. Many fans believe that the Ukrainian fighter unfairly earned.
Fox came to the comment, asking the referee that it was.
However, as a result of ten rounds, the judges gave the Ukrainian victory: 97-93 twice and 98-92. Bogachuk improved his record to 26 victories (24 by knockout) for two defeats.
