Lorenzo Sonego was eliminated in the round of 16 of the Wimbledon tournament, beaten by the American Ben Shelton, n.10 of Seeding. The Italian won the first set 6-3, then he lost the next two, 6-1 and 7-6, and in the fourth he surrendered, yielding 7-5. Shelton will face the winner of the challenge between Jannik Sinner and the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov in the quarterfinals.
