Sailing: Soldini starts the season at the Rorc Transatlantic Race

(ANSA) – ROME, JANUARY 03 – The new Maserati Multi 70 sports season begins in a few days with Giovanni Soldini, who will be at the eighth edition of the Rorc Transatlantic Race, organized by Royal Ocean Racing next Saturday, January 8th. Club in collaboration with Yacht Club de France.

Over two hundred navigators from 22 different countries will compete along a route of approximately 2995 nautical miles in the Atlantic, after passing the Canary Islands.

A departure that requires tactical choices before sailing the ocean to Quarantine Point, east of Grenada, in the eastern Caribbean. Maserati Multi 70 prepares to sail the waves in a flying trim, challenging rival multihulls Argo (USA), PowerPlay (CAY) and Ultim Emotion 2 (FRA) in a highly competitive race with the common goal of breaking the 5-day record, 22 hours, 46 minutes and 03 seconds, established by Lloyd Thornburg’s MOD70 Phaedo 3 in 2015.

“Everything is ready for the Transat – comments Soldini – it will be a hard-fought regatta, our competitors have already shown that they are at a very high level and therefore, as always, we will sell our lives dearly. It will be exciting”. Maserati is taking part in the regatta for the third time, after the 2016 and 2018 editions, when it was the first to cross the finish line with a time of 6 days, 18 hours, 54 minutes and 3 seconds. Soldini is accompanied by five professionals: the Italians Vittorio Bissaro, Francesco Pedol and Matteo Soldini, the Spanish Oliver Herrera Perez and the French Thomas Joffrin. (HANDLE).
