(ANSA) – ROME, JANUARY 18 – “We work constantly so that physical activity for children is not just a game but becomes a lifestyle, to say that sport belongs to everyone and is for everyone”. This was stated by Valentina Vezzali, Undersecretary for Sport, during the presentation of the “YES – Youth, Education and Sport” project. “Sport must be a barrier to the discomfort perceived above all by children who during the pandemic had to give up any form of sociality, and the gym must be a useful means to establish healthy interpersonal relationships with peers and adults”, said the Vezzali. A work carried out with the Ministry of Education “with which we have activated a close synergy, because it will no longer have to happen to young people having to choose between sport and education”, Vezzali specified, recalling that in the context of the Protocol signed with Ministry of Education and Federations for “student-athletes” have been allocated 8 billion euros in the form of scholarships to facilitate the continuation of the training path of student-athletes. “We take responsibility towards the new generations, aware that sport is an important educational agency”, concluded Vezzali.
