Apple, extra revenue for removing headphones and iPhone chargers

The analysts of CCS Insight say this, who have compared the lower cost, for the manufacturer, of the missing accessories to the number of iPhones sold. Experts believe that the American giant will save an average of 32 euros for every smartphone sold since 2020, the year in which the new commercial policy started. A sum to which, for Ccs Insight, should be added that relating to the purchase of power supplies and earphones as separate gadgets, for an additional cost of 25 euros and 19 euros respectively per person. Ben Wood, chief analyst at CCS Insight, explained to the Daily Mail: “Apple is the market leader in the telephony sector, also in pursuing sustainability strategies. It goes in this direction the removal of chargers and headphones which, of course, involve also a certain saving on production costs “. Since announcing the move in October 2020 with the iPhone 12, Apple has sold, according to analysts, over 190 million phones worldwide. Total earnings from removing wall plugs and earphones, as well as reducing shipping costs, would reach € 6 million, with a further estimate of € 267 million from the sale of extra accessories. A few days ago, Apple unveiled two new green color variants for the iPhone 13. According to industry experts, a clear reference to the “green” course undertaken by the company, which thanks to the reduction of the smartphone packaging it has cut, overall, over 2 million tons of carbon emissions, equivalent to the removal of 500,000 cars a year from the roads.
