(ANSA) – ROME, APRIL 06 – Pizza is the most photographed and shared food on social media, with more than 22 billion views on TikTok, and 59.1 million hashtags on Instagram. The monthly search volume on Google for pizza is on average 13.6 million searches worldwide and 450,000 in Italy. This is what emerges from a research by Lenstore which analyzed the 100 most clicked foods on TikTok, Instagram and Google to find out which are the most popular foods on social networks in Italy and in the world. In second place among the most popular foods on the internet is ice cream, which has 43.9 million hashtags on Instagram and 28 billion views on TikTok. Sushi ranks third in the ranking, with approximately 7.5 billion views on TikTok and 32.1 million hashtags on Instagram. Research shows that lamb is the least clicked food on social media and on Google, with 558,000 hashtags on Instagram and 54 million views on TikTok. The monthly search volume on Google corresponds to 880 searches in Italy and 201,000 searches in the world.
In second and third place among the least popular foods on social networks are grilled chicken (1.1 million hashtags on Instagram and 116 million views on TikTok) and applesauce (290 thousand hashtags on Instagram and 815 million views on TikTok). The survey also shows the forecast of the most popular foods in 2025 with the most searched foods on Google in Italy and in the world in three years: pizza, sushi and mango will be the most clicked foods by Italians in 2025.
