Metaverse, Zuckerberg’s viewer already within the year

Give help, Conte:

(ANSA) – MILAN, 03 MAY – Meta plans to release a new virtual reality viewer this year, useful for entering the worlds of the metaverse. This was stated in a report by The Information, which speaks of at least four different viewers that Mark Zuckerberg’s company would be ready to put on the market between now and 2024. The first accessory, known by the code name Project Cambria was partially unveiled during the announcement of Facebook’s name change to Meta last fall when Zuckerberg launched the metaverse initiative.

The Information discloses some curiosities about the viewer, which is considered a “notebook for the face”, given the performance it would be equipped with. Cambria would offer high resolution image quality, allowing the wearer to read the text clearly, so they could send emails and produce documents.

Currently, Meta has opened access to its metaverse to users who have an Oculus Quest 2 in the United States and Canada. In Meta’s plans there is the will both to bring people to the entertainment scenarios and to the more productive ones, for work, within Horizon Workrooms. Cambria will provide a view of the surrounding environment thanks to outward facing cameras. This function, called “full-color passthrough”, will allow mixed reality experiences, without the estrangement that is felt today with the Oculus Quest 2. (ANSA).
