(ANSA) – MILAN, 04 AUGUST – Smartphone shipments in Europe decreased by 11% on an annual basis with an even greater decline, of -13%, on the first quarter of 2022. These are the latest data released by the agency Counterpoint Research. With narrower metrics, which take into account the last two quarters, only Xiaomi has managed to ship more smartphones, from 6.1 million in the first quarter to 7.5 million in the second, while the first two queens of the market, Samsung and Apple they have suffered both the economic crisis, which leads people to spend on cheaper devices, and the exit from the Russian market since the invasion of Ukraine in the spring. Apple follows closely, from 21% to 24%, while for all the other brands there is a contraction, except the aforementioned Realme which earns a point, from 2% to 3% of the total.

Many countries are approaching recession, with internal political tensions rising, for example in France, Germany and the UK. We remain confident. , however, that the trajectory should soon return to the upside, even if the recovery is likely to be long and slow “. (HANDLE).
